Hanging prayer flags on the top of Mahakala. It was about a seven-mile walk from the Burmese Vihar (where we are staying) to the mountain. There is a cave near the top where the Buddha is believed to have practiced austerities for six years before becoming enlightened.

Some pictures of our time in New Delhi.

Here are some pictures from our stay in London. Our group met here for three days of orientation before flying to India.

My First Post!

Hello!

This is my first post! I'm sorry that it has taken me this long; internet is not easy to find in Bodh Gaya! My blog has been empty because I am trying to make a statement about the Buddhist notion of emptiness... yeah... that's my excuse. Anyway...

I'm in Bodh Gaya studying Buddhism through the Antioch Education Abroad Buddhist Studies in India program. I've been in Bodh Gaya for about a month now, and it has been an exciting experience! It has been quite a challenge adjusting to life in India, but I'm getting used to it. And by the way, I'm not used to blogging so I really don't know what to say. But hopefully the pictures I include will redeem me. ;)
